BSL Breeds Ruined!
The Down fall of a breed! Try as you may,but some breeds are just not for everyone! A lot of people are finding the Neo pleasing to the eye,and saying to theirselves I want that dog!And a lot of breeders even members of breed clubs will help you to get one of these dogs.As long as you seem to say the right thing.This is the sad truth.I love this breed and would do anything I can to keep it out of the BSL's(Breed Specific Legislation),but some (even the ones who say its not for the money)will sell to anyone.This will be the downfall of the breed! This is not your average family dog.It is not like your labs and shepherds! Its not even like some of the giant breeds like the Great Dane or English Mastiff.This breed has a certain amount of attitude that does not make it right in certain situations.Your average owner will not ever, I don't care what some breeders may tell you, have two males together,intact or not.Just ask the breeder how many males over the age of 15 months that they keep together day in and out!Not many I assure you.You will have a fight!Don't get me wrong females by no means are a cake walk either.Case in point,I had a couple on my waiting list for almost a yr.Well my litter fell through.They were on the list for a spayed female,because they already had a neutered male lab mix.They also had a four yr old daughter.Well when the litter fell through they went with another breeder who put a male right in their home.Now when the fights start and they probably will what if their little girl is in the room?Well you can bet to many of these situations and we will be on a ban list before long.Its hard to sit and watch a train wreck getting ready to happen and not be able to do anything about it!So maybe this will get out there to some,and do some good.The Neo was never meant to be a gentle giant like some breeds.But this is what true Neo people love,but also make it not the dog for everyone.When I take mine out in public and are letting strangers pet them,they think that this is how the dogs are not realizing how much work I have put into my dogs to keep them socialized.And at the same time the same friendly dog in public will not let you come into my house or car uninvited.Please research the breed all the negatives and the positives before considering this breed.Some breeders say that if we lower the price that it will keep the back yard breeders at bay,well case in point when the Rottweiler became so popular I remember when they were $1500.00.Well now you can find them for $50.00.And still people wanting to breed them for money.Plus the breeds reputation is ruined for life.I do not want to see this happen to a breed I love and respect so much! If the truth be known it is going to take the breeders out there that claim to be responsible to make sure that they weed out the ones that are truely not up to par!Take the time to investigate and ask many questions over and over,So if they are hiding something like two male pitts in their home you can trip them up.Also have a waiting list and only breed when you know you have the pups going to good responsible homes.Its as much the breeders faults as it is the ones who are going to have the dogs that get in the headlines.Thanks for taking the time to read this.
